Isabelle Palmer is the twelfth Girl of the Year. She was released in 2014.
Character[]
Isabelle is a nine (later ten) year-old girl who lives in Washington, DC with her parents, Leo and Nancy, and her older sister Jade, who is twelve. She is enrolled in her dream school, Anna Hart School of the Arts, which Jade also attends. Nancy is a textile artist and Leo is a hospital administrator and a jazz musician. She also has a white kitten named Tutu.
Isabelle loves to dance and performs in ballet and modern dance. However, she isn't too confident in her abilities, feels overshadowed, frequently compares herself to other dancers, and gets performance anxiety. One of the reasons why Isabelle feels overshadowed is because Jade is one of the star performers in the school and Isabelle is constantly compared to her. She later learns that she's a natural leader, great at calming down others, good at advising them in how to perform better, and cheering up other anxious performers. Jade says that she loves to help people. Isabelle loves to sew and design her own dance costumes and her teachers often like her to help design costumes. She helps her studio design costumes for The Nutcracker and also makes capes and other costumes for her tour group.
Her best friends are Luisa, a fellow dancer at the school and Gabriel, a magician. She initially is rivals with Renata (notably, Renata idolized her older sister Jade), but after Isabelle reassures her after her family fails to attend a performance in To the Stars, Isabelle, Renata becomes less mean to her. Jade and Isabelle's idol is Jackie Sanchez. Isabelle eventually befriends her while working on tour with her, and Jackie even gives her her own first pointe shoes as a souvenir.

Isabelle's Dance Headband.
- Isabelle was the first Girl of the Year to have three books in her series.
- Isabelle was the first character to have a unique e-book sold.
- Isabelle was the first named character to be released with uniquely colored hair, later followed by Luciana Vega and Corinne Tan. However, unlike later dolls her hair color was removable, allowing her to appear to have solid blonde hair.
- A child-sized headband inspired by Isabelle was available as Isabelle's Dance Headband; the retail cost was $5.
