Party Dress and Pinafore (2022 edition.)
The Party Pinafore and Birthday Crown (also known as Molly's Party Dress) was introduced to Molly's Collection in 1987 and retired in 2013 with Molly's archival. The set was rereleased in 2022 with the name Molly's Birthday Outfit. It is associated with the book Happy Birthday, Molly!.
Retail cost was $20 and later increased to $24 and $28. The 2022 version retail cost is $38.
Pinafore[]
Party Dress and Pinafore, shown with Molly's meet shoes.
White sleeveless pinafore with shoulder ruffles. Sash that attaches to the waist and ties in back. Pocket and ruffles are trimmed in green, blue, and red rickrack. Velcros up the back.
Party Crown[]
Red and gold foil paper birthday crown. Crown has "Happy Birthday" written in gold cursive script. Pictures of gold and green gems around tip of crown with gold outlines.
Anklets[]
White lace anklet socks trimmed in red. These socks were also sold with Molly's Shoes and Socks.
Shoes[]
Added in 2022. Black vinyl Mary Janes with kitten heels. A simpler version of these shoes was sold with Molly's Shoes and Socks.
Dress Like Your Doll[]
Birthday Sundress with white Mary Janes.
The matching outfit was available:
- Birthday Sundress: $65. Pricing later decreased to $48 and $50.
- Mary Janes (White, Black, and Red): $34 and later $31[1]
It came with three randomly colored birthday balloons. The outfit was phased out around 2000.
Trivia[]
- While in the story Molly wears her hair loose (hence the lack of hair ribbons) and the outfit was originally shown with her hair down, the outfit was later advertised with Molly's hair still in braids.
- The pinafore is accurate for Emily Bennett to wear as well, as she wears a matching outfit in the stories.
