The Purple Velveteen Set
The Purple Velveteen Set (also known as the Winter Party Set) is a Bitty Baby outfit released in 1999, modified in late 2001, and retired in 2002. Retail cost was originally $24, and when the set was modified the price dropped to $18.
Dress[]
Purple velvet dress with cap sleeves and velvet Peter Pan-style collar. Quilted stitching on light purple bodice; this continues around back. Dark purple organza ribbon at waist with bow on left side. Bow has a second piece with light blue organza. Closes in back with velcro.
Hat[]
Purple velvet hat with brim. Purple satin inside hat. Organza bow on right side with purple and light blue.
Tights[]
Light purple-blue tights with lace trim at waist. The tights' color is close to the light blue ribbon on the hat and dress.
Shoes[]
Black faux patent leather Mary Jane-style shoes. Strap attaches on side with black snap. Open part near toes is squared off.
Neckbow[]
Neckbow for Bitty Bear.
Kitten[]
Toy kitten in a box. Kitten is white with a purple bow on its head. By December 2001, this was no longer available with the set, and the set was sold for a lower price.
Book[]
Bitty Bear's Winter Fun coloring book. By December 2001, this was no longer available with the set, and the set was sold for a lower price.
Crayons[]
Four crayons. By December 2001, this was no longer available with the set, and the set was sold for a lower price.
