The Mix and Match Outfit was the first meet outfit for the American Girl of Today line. It was introduced with the debut of the line in 1995, then replaced by the First Day Outfit in 1996.

This outfit fairly accurately represents fashion from the mid-nineties. There are several versions of it, due to manufacture by different factories. The primary variations are in the white shirt: some have working buttons, others close with velcro. The shoes can also be different from the suede flats, though they are all black.
